The Martin D12-28 is the definitive 12-string dreadnought - a guitar that brings Martin's celebrated standard series craftsmanship and tonal pedigree to the lush, shimmering world of 12-string playing, producing the chorus-like depth, chime, and natural shimmer that makes a great 12-string so utterly compelling and unlike anything else in the acoustic guitar world. Built with a solid Sitka spruce top and solid East Indian rosewood back and sides, the D12-28 delivers the broad, powerful tonal foundation that the dreadnought format is celebrated for, with the doubled strings adding a richness of overtone and a natural complexity that transforms any chord or melody into something genuinely expansive.

This 2004 example carries the pre-Reimagined D-28 standard series specification - solid mahogany Low Profile neck, 1-7/8" nut width appropriate to the 12-string format, 24.9" short scale length to ease string tension and improve playability, ebony fingerboard and bridge, rosewood headplate with raised gold foil logo, non-scalloped standard X-bracing, and chrome enclosed tuners with small buttons. Style 28 multiple black and white Boltaron binding and inlay appointments complete a guitar that is understated, beautifully constructed, and tonally magnificent. Ideal for singer-songwriters, folk and rock players, and anyone who wants the definitive Martin take on the 12-string dreadnought in a classic pre-Reimagined specification.

This 2004-built guitar is in fantastic condition - it even still has the protective plastic on the pickguard! There's minimal playwear and light lacquer swirls throughout, but it's in wonderful shape for a guitar of it's age. The action is low and fast and incredibly playable for a 12-string, and it has the classic warm, rich and thick Martin tone - it's a beauty! Includes original hardshell case.
