Martin OM-45GE 1933 Golden Era Acoustic Guitar – 2001

Produced in extremely limited numbers between 2001 and 2003, the Martin OM-45GE 1933 stands among the most exclusive modern-era Martins ever created. Built using Martin’s finest reserve stock of old-growth Brazilian Rosewood and premium 8-grade Adirondack Spruce, these instruments represented a no-compromise recreation of one of the most revered Orchestra Models in the company’s history. Crafted by Martin’s most experienced master builders, the OM-45GE was designed not simply as a luxury instrument, but as a faithful Golden Era masterpiece with extraordinary tonal depth, responsiveness, and collectability.

This particular 2001 example is especially remarkable, featuring exceptionally straight-grained quarter-sawn Brazilian Rosewood back and sides paired with a beautifully graded Adirondack Spruce top displaying wide-to-tight grain transition. Among vintage enthusiasts and collectors, these wood characteristics are highly prized both aesthetically and tonally, offering clarity, power, overtone complexity, and exceptional projection. The lightly scalloped Adirondack bracing delivers the explosive responsiveness and dynamic range that made pre-war Orchestra Models legendary.

Presented in near mint condition, this guitar shows only the faintest signs of age with minimal superficial weather checking visible under close inspection. Complete with its original Geib-style case, original case candy, and an earlier appraisal from renowned vintage authority George Gruhn, this OM-45GE represents an exceptionally rare opportunity for collectors and discerning players alike. With original 1930s OM-45 guitars now commanding extraordinary prices and Martin unlikely to revisit Brazilian Rosewood production on this level again, the OM-45GE 1933 remains one of the most desirable and significant modern Martin reissues ever produced.
